My Great Summer (Joël Mak, 11 jaar)
This year, I had a wonderful summer. For this summer, I enjoyed a few weeks of relaxing in my home country, the Netherlands. We visited our extended family and we did many great other things.
When we arrived in Holland after a few exhausting hours in the airplane, I jumped for joy and my heart was beating a million times per minute and joy started rising when we saw our family.
We had a marvelous weekend with our whole family and although my pink got badly damaged after two bowling balls crashed into my pink, I had a lovely weekend.
We also had an awesome day with our other extended family which was the best day I ever had while I was on vacation. We did many cool activities such as soccer, running around and we were especially having great fun. After all the playing, we had dinner in a pancake restaurant. There, I had a giant bacon pancake and I didn’t manage to eat it all. But I was pleased that it became such a successful and good day.
My and my brothers also had a sleep over at our best friend’s house. Our friend had just lost his leg because he had a terrible horse accident in which he almost died. He was a swimming champion and a outstanding athlete which saved his life. But for now, I’m just happy he’s alive.
Anyway, we did many great things at his house such as computer games, wii games, PS2 games and many other exciting things. I had a tremendous problem with sleeping at his house and I woke up at two a clock, but I’m still happy that we had a sleep over at his house.
After all that, we stayed at our grandpa and grandma’s house which I think was very fun too, because they have a very big house with an amazingly big garden. And there are many other awesome things we could do.
Chasing the cat all the time was fun and I laughed and joy was everywhere when I would chase the cat. I was not happy that we had to go back, but I was satisfied with the best summer I ever had!
